In 2014, T/A Martin Studio's Principal decided to create a podcast he had been looking for but didn't yet exist; a show about the intersection of design and sports. This led to the birth of Makers of Sport®, a podcast-turned-media company—featured in Apple Podcasts New & Noteworthy in 2015—elevating the discussion around design, advertising, brands and startups in the sports business.
The company has evolved into a full-service content studio, social media news & commentary brand and merchandise store. The content from the Twitter account has been featured on SportTechie, Uni-Watch, Adidas Group Blog and more. The account has become a quotable source by many high-profile sports journalists and has been been retweeted by major college football and basketball programs, as well as Apple Podcasts.
Makers of Sport® Podcast— which features interviews with designers, creative directors, entrepreneurs and more in the sports business— is used by professional sports teams to educate their creative staffs and by numerous sports marketing programs at universities. Listeners and followers include top execs in the sports business, brands, ad agencies, professional sports organizations, college athletics departments and more.
